The Mathorn MTC-211 is a 2-metre-long photographic USB cable designed for professional tethering in the studio and outdoors. It features two Type-C connectors - straight and angled - to achieve a fast and stable connection between your camera and computer. In addition, the cable provides 4K 60Hz video transmission and device charging with up to 100 watts of power.

Stable connection

Mathorn cables are first and foremost an accessory that gives fast and stable data transfer between camera and computer. Each product prototype was subjected to multiple laboratory and practical tests during photo shoots, using cameras from leading manufacturers and the most popular tethering applications. 

This resulted in USB cables that ensure uninterrupted and efficient operation on set, even during intensive use.

High data transfer rates

The Mathorn MTC-211 tethering cables is made to the USB 3.2 Gen2x2 standard,  which has a nominal data transfer rate of 20Gbit/s. Thanks to the highly conductive wires and connectors as well as double shielding of the signal lines, cables provide transfer rates of up to 2000 MB/s.

4K 60Hz video transmission

The Mathorn 20Gbps cable provides full support for the DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode) standard allowing 4K/60Hz video transmission. This makes the cable ideal for watching films, playing video games or working on high-resolution screens.

Durability first

The Mathorn cables and plugs are made of lightweight PVC plastic with increased flexibility and resistance to mechanical damage. As a result, they are not only more durable than conventional USB cables with similar parameters but also more comfortable to use. The special cushioning of the USB-C connector prevents it from breaking and at the same time reduces the risk of damaging the socket in the camera.

Ergonomics

Ergonomics is an extremely important issue when working with the camera. One poorly designed plug significantly complicates or even prevents activity when using more than one cable. For the Mathorn tethering cables, we have designed special, small plugs whose profiled housing ensures that the cable can be connected and disconnected conveniently, minimizing the risk of breaking the USB connector.  With various applications and convenience in mind, the Mathorn MTC series cables are available with straight and angled plugs.

Colors

When working in a dark photographic studio, the color of the cable is not only a matter of aesthetics but also safety. For this reason, the Mathorn MTC cables have a blue shade that we have named ArcticBlue. It is characterized by very good visibility in low light and against a white background. Despite the high visibility, the cable does not reflect on the subjects being photographed and the cool shade does not distract people being photographed.

Power rating and fast charging

The Mathorn MTC-211 tethering cable not only provides high data transfer rates but also the ability to charge connected devices, with a maximum load of up to 100W, using the PowerDelivery 3.0 standard. It can be successfully used to charge and power devices with high power consumption, such as power stations or laptops equipped with a USB-C connector.
