The Mathorn MB-145 Ultimate 2600 mAh is a replacement battery for the Olympus BLH-1, designed for users of Olympus OM-D cameras known for their reliability and outstanding ergonomics. To support their continued intensive use, Mathorn has developed a high-performance replacement battery from the Ultimate series with a nominal capacity of 2600mAh, built using carefully selected NCR lithium-ion cells. This provides noticeably longer runtime per charge, full electronic compatibility with supported Micro Four Thirds cameras, and safe charging in dedicated chargers.

Longer runtime than the OEM battery

The original Olympus BLH-1 battery has a nominal capacity of 1720mAh. By using NCR18500D260 cells, the Mathorn MB-145 Ultimate achieves a nominal capacity of 2600mAh. The additional 880mAh represents more than 51% greater nominal capacity compared with the original battery, allowing you to take more photos or record video for longer without having to reach for a spare battery as often.

180 to 380 additional shots per charge

According to the CIPA measurement standard, the original BLH-1 battery (1720 mAh) delivers approximately 420–440 shots in the OM-D E-M1 Mark II and E-M1 Mark III. Thanks to its higher capacity, the Mathorn MB-145 Ultimate can extend this figure to approximately 610–640 shots based on its minimum rated capacity. In practice, this means around 180 to as many as 380 additional photos when using power-saving modes.

Actual shooting performance will vary depending on factors such as ambient temperature, image stabilization usage and LCD activity. Nevertheless, the significantly higher energy reserve compared with the original battery provides a noticeable increase in operating time.

Low self-discharge and NCR technology

Thanks to low-power battery management electronics and NCR lithium-ion cell chemistry, the battery offers a self-discharge rate of approximately 0.5% per month when stored below 25°C. This helps the battery retain its charge even after several weeks in a camera bag, so your equipment remains ready to use whenever you need it.

Compatibility with cameras

The Mathorn MB-145 has been tested for mechanical, electronic and firmware compatibility. It works with cameras using BLH-1-type batteries, including the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, E-M1 Mark III and E-M1X. The battery communicates accurate charge-status information to the camera and can be charged using standard system chargers such as the Olympus BCH-1, as well as compatible third-party alternatives.

Protection circuitry and V1-rated housing

The integrated electronics continuously monitor voltage, current and temperature to protect the cells against overcharging, deep discharge, short circuits and overheating. The housing is made from V1-rated self-extinguishing material. The battery is designed for a service life of up to 500 full charge cycles and is backed by a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty.
