The Mathorn MBA-NP2VDT is an easy-to-use adapter that allows you to power V-Mount equipment using two NP-F type batteries. This enables popular batteries used in photo/video gear to also power cameras, field monitors, LED lights, and other accessories utilizing the V-Mount system. Two NP-F batteries provide up to 135W of power for V-Mount equipment, while the additional 50W D-TAP port allows you to simultaneously power cameras, camcorders, or smaller accessories.

Utilizing the NP-F Ecosystem

The adapter performs best when paired with NP-F970 class batteries, which combine high capacity with high current output. A prime example is the Mathorn MB-902, offering up to 70W of power output via its NP-F connector. A pair of these batteries allows you to utilize the adapter’s full 135W output while ensuring long runtimes. The MB-902 model also features a microprocessor-controlled BMS with overload, overcurrent, overheat, and improper voltage protection, helping maintain stable operating parameters when powering more demanding gear.

Additional D-TAP Port for Cameras and Accessories

In addition to the main V-Mount connector, the adapter features a built-in D-TAP output (13.0–16.8V / up to 3A / 50W). It can be used for continuous powering of compatible cameras, as well as other rig components equipped with a D-TAP input. This allows you to power field monitors, wireless video transmission systems, follow focus units, recorders, and other accessories from a single set of batteries.

Clear 4-Stage LED Power Indicator

The built-in battery level checking system allows for instant verification of the remaining power reserve. Pressing the CHECK button activates a 4-level blue LED indicator showing the combined charge state of both mounted batteries. This enables continuous power monitoring without needing to detach the adapter from your device.

Important Usage Information

The Mathorn MBA-NP2VDT is a one-way adapter designed exclusively for powering equipment through its V-Mount or D-TAP connectors using two NP-F batteries. The adapter cannot function as a charger - its V-Mount and D-TAP connectors act strictly as power outputs for connected devices. 

Connecting chargers or power supplies to these ports to charge the batteries is strictly prohibited and may result in damage to both the adapter and the batteries themselves. Please read the instruction manual before first use.

To ensure safe operation, use only NP-F batteries equipped with appropriate protection circuitry - specifically overload, overcurrent, and overheat protection - such as the Mathorn MB-902.
