The GlareOne Spotlight is an optical snoot that was created in cooperation with Piotr Werner - the long-standing brand ambassador of GlareOne. Piotr Werner creates images that have a lot of character and plays with light in the process. GlareOne Spotlight allows for experimenting with light and achieving interesting effects in photographs.
The GlareOne Spotlight is an optical snoot, compatible with GlareOne 50, 85 and 150 mm lenses. It has valves that allow you to shape the light stream and the ability to mount Gobo filters. The body of the spotlight is made of metal and allows the use of flashes up to 600 Ws or LEDs up to 200 watts.
Lenses
In an optical injector such as Spotlight, the most important thing is the lens. The lens used here is a six-lens apochromat with a focal length of 50, 85 and 150 mm, which allows for very sharp edges of light and shadow. This is extremely important if you want to get full control over the lighting on set. In addition, the lens is designed to minimize chromatic aberration, which can cause color tinting. The lens must be purchased separately, it is not included in the kit.
Compatibility
Optical snoot are recommended for use with continuous light lamps. With LED lamps, it gives an evenly projected light image. Spotlight can also be used with flash lamps. However, it is important to know that when using the Spotlight with flash lamps such as Vega or Antares due to the physical structure of the flash tube, the projected circle of light may be slightly darker in the middle part.
Flaps
An integral part of the Spotlight's body is a set of four shutter valves which can be used to adjust the light output of the lens to precisely illuminate only certain parts of your subject. The valves can also be used after replacing the standard lens with another one.
Masks
Spotlight is equipped with a fixture for effect masks (so-called gobos), which allow you to imitate, for example, the light coming through the window blinds or display various patterns and shapes. GlareOne offers 3 different sets of Gobo masks.
Interchangeable bayonet
The focuser is factory equipped with a Bowens type bayonet but it is possible to replace it. GlareOne offers matching Profoto, Broncolor and Elinchrom 152 series bayonets.Â

* Due to its closed construction, it is not recommended to use Spotlight with flashes of more than 600 Ws and LED lamps of more than 200 W maximum power. Lamps with higher wattages can generate too much heat, which will accumulate, which can lead to damage to the lamp or the Spotlight. Spotlight cannot be used with halogen lamps and flash tubes equipped with halogen pilot lights.
