Boom
A boom (crane) tripod is one of the basic tripods that should be in every photography and film studio. They are most often used to place lamps above a set for overhead lighting. The crane is also useful when the lamp needs to be placed above the camera or camcorder, which can be awkward or even impossible with a regular tripod. The tripod comes with a 4kg counterweight for balancing the boom arm.
Durability
Prime Boom is characterized by large diameter of the central column section and the arm which ensures high rigidity of the construction. The mechanism for adjusting the crane's swivel is made entirely of metal, which guarantees its considerable strength and long service life. The coupler for legs and central column, section clamps, counterweight and the head that holds the mounting pin are also made entirely of metal.
Details
To prevent the crane-mounted lamp from rotating during operation, the mounting arbor is fluted. The arm tilt mechanism is equipped with a large handle that guarantees the secure grip so important for safe work. The arm is topped with a solid head that allows the mandrel to be mounted perpendicular and parallel to its axis. The other end of the arm is equipped with a rubber grip that makes it easy to adjust the angle of inclination. The counterweight locking mechanism allows to move it along the arm axis, which allows to balance the lamp weight quickly. The tripod can be retrofitted with casters, making it very easy to work in the studio.

* Maximum tripod weight capacity is indicated for center column. A tripod in a boom configuration will have a much lower capacity, which is affected by, among other things, the use of a counterweight, the location of the center of gravity of the attached lamp or accessories, etc. It is not possible to give a reliable indication of the maximum load capacity of an arm. The parameters given in the table above are approximate. Actual product dimensions may vary slightly. |
